Each Biodegradable Seed Paper Wristband is made of high-quality post-consumer recycled paper embedded with non-GMO seeds. This product is completely compostable, biodegradable, and safe for the environment. The biodegradable seed paper wristband is a creative avenue to promote sustainability. Material
First, we make the seed paper from post-consumer recycled paper pulp. The recycled paper is shredded, soaked in water, and blended into paper pulp. That pulp is then mixed with non-GMO seeds (such as wildflowers, vegetables, and herbs) and formulated and spread onto screens. The seed pulp is evenly spread over each screen, then pressed to remove excess moisture, and air dried or sun dried to preserve the seeds and their ability to germinate. Once dried, we cut the paper into wristbands, and smooth the edges for comfort. Then, using eco-safe, water-based inks we printed the design, logo, or message right onto the seed paper, meaning that no harmful chemicals will harm the seeds or the environment when printing the designs. We attached biodegradable adhesive tabs and natural fiber ties for fastening, which means the entire wristband can be composted, and nothing goes to waste. Each wristband is carefully inspected to ensure that the seeds remain intact, and that the wristbands function well for their event use, and importantly, continued use as a plantable.
