Material

Wristbands made from recycled ocean plastic are made from recycled post-consumer plastic that is collected in oceans, rivers and shorelines, and is recycled into a flexible and durable band made from the highest quality plastic resin. The plastic is collected and sorted, cleaned and shredded into pellets, melted for making into new products by either spinning it into high strength yarn or injection molding it into flexible bands. Many times, the recycled plastic material will be blended into new products with other sustainable and eco-friendly fibers like organic cotton or recycled polyester to make them a little more comfortable while maintaining some extent of durability. The wristbands are capable of being woven, braided or molded based on what the artist is intending. Designs may be added using printed, embossed (commonly known as debossed), or embroider. Heat pressing, stitched, or laminated are used to finish all bands for extra durability, and closures come with varieties like adjustable snaps, knots, or elastic and stretchable loops for the most desirable comfortable fit. Recycled fibers are commonly treated to resist water and UV absorption to help sustain color and structure even with prolonged daily exposure to outdoors.
